The Pininfarina-designed Mondial followed the Bertone-bodied 308 GT4 in the late 1970s as Ferrari's first true four-seater mid-engined sports model.
While it was based on the 308 platform the Mondial featured a longer wheelbase, allowing two small adults to squeeze into the rear compartment.
Initially introduced with a 235HP 2-valve 3.0 litre V8 engine, the Mondial's performance was enhanced with the introduction of the Quattrovalvole (4-valve) cylinder heads combined with an increase in engine capacity to 3.2 litres in 1985, resulting in 260HP.
Enthusiasts rave about the Mondial's classic mid-engine handling, its excellent grip even in the wet, its beautiful Ferrari engine note and its excellent transmission, making it a very practical and also affordable Ferrari.
