One of the many great Australian specials built in the post-war period, Ken Farr's open-wheeler utilised well-proven components, including the ubiquitous Volkswagen flat-four engine and gearbox, in a custom tubular frame with Triumph Herald uprights, brakes and wheels at the front and a VW swing axle and brakes at the rear, while the rack and pinion steering came out of a Morris Major Elite. Farr went on to race a Lotus 22 after selling his special. Over the years the Farr has proven competitive, easy to drive and would make an ideal entry-level historic racing car.
