The body being designed by Gerry Coker, and the rugged chassis by engineer Barry Bilbie with the first cars being available and on sale by March 1953. They were powered by a 4 cylinder engine & known as 100/4 BN1 and later improved models being known as the 100/4 BN2. Owners were asking for more power and engine flexibility, and from August 1956 until March 1959 a new model was available, powered by an inline 6 cylinder engine derived from the Austin Westminster saloon, and known as the 100/6 BN4. Austin-Healey's were being raced successfully on many continents by men & women alike. This new model the 100/6 BN4 gaining a reputation with its meritorious history on the worlds tracks.
