Description
Debuted at the Sept 1975 Frankfurt Motorshow the 450SEL 6.9 was at time of release the world's most advanced super saloon. Developed and built as a direct successor to the 300SEL 6.3, which in the 1960's proved there was a demand for a top end car such as this with sports car like dynamics and performance to match. With nitrogen filled air bag cylinders, oil filled struts and gas filled shocks these cars were probably the best handling cars available at any price. Featuring a V8 engine with dry sump lubrication, self adjusting tappets, mechanical fuel injection, 286kw of power & 405ft lb of torque, a top speed of 233kph & a 0-100kph time of 6.5 seconds they were not to be trifled with. Their ability to stop perform and handle like a much smaller car, they are easy to drive on today's roads. Built in very small numbers over a 4 year period their exclusivity and rarity makes them an excellent choice for a collector's car.
