The SS cars represent Jaguar before the company name was changed. Introduced in 1932, the SS1 was the SS Company's first complete car. The tourer followed upon the success of the initial fixed head coupe whose innovative long and low styling found an appreciative public. It was no surprise that this basic style was retained by subsequent Jaguars until 1949.
