Description

The Vincent HRD motorcycle company was formed in 1928 when Philip Vincent acquired the HRD brand and added the name to his own motorcycle line up. In 1935, after previously using J.A.P engines, Vincent introduced his own 500cc single motor to the range. Combining two of these singles made for a mighty 1000cc V-Twin, and when installed on the Series A 1000 it made the Vincent name synonymous with the title 'fastest bike in the world.' After the Second World War, the Series B 'Rapide' was released, a new V-Twin becoming a structural member of the chassis. This, along with the continued use of rear suspension (something Vincent HRD has been doing for many years and rare among contemporary bikes) made them not only quick, but more comfortable to ride than their rivals.
