BMC has a long history of providing utility vehicles for a range of purposes. In 1955 both Austin and Morris released a new range of 3995cc six-cylinder trucks. Based off the Austin 'Loadstar' 1-ton truck, several models and load ratings were available. Many of these vehicles were pressed into service as ambulances or firetrucks in several Western countries (and Scandinavia) and today are popular amongst historic truck restorers, for use in shows or other commercial purposes.
