For 1926, Harley-Davidson re-introduced single cylinder bikes to their brigade as a cheaper alternative to the incomparable V-Twins. They were available in both side-valve and OHV configuration. Two years later, front-wheel brakes were rolled out across the range allowing for far greater safety and higher top-speeds. There were two capacity choices for the single Harleys- a 350cc known as the 'Pup' and the 500 which was known as the 'Dog'.
