Description
Continuing a long tradition of even more upmarket options for Cadillacs, 1973 saw the introduction of the 'd'Elegance' package. This was available on Coupe de Ville, Sedan de Ville and top-line Fleetwood Brougham series. Initially the d'Elegance package was offered for USD$750 and provided plusher velour trim and deeper carpets to go with a selection of standard equipment that was optional on lesser models. The d'Elegance option set continued to be available through the seventies, eighties and nineties. By 1984, the last year of the Fleetwood Brougham before Caddy split the two names into separate models, d'Elegance was a USD$1250 option with a cloth interior or a USD$1800 leather package. Standard motor was a 249ci (4100cc) V8 with 135bhp, with a no-cost optional 350ci diesel V8 from the Oldsmobile stable (105bhp). A 368ci (6.0 litre) motor was available on the limousine platform.
