Description
Late 1955 saw a bodystyle change for Chevrolet's full-size pickup range. This new look formed part of the 'Task Force' brand which replaced the previous and well-regarded 'Advance Design' series, which helped re-establish Chevrolet as an automotive powerhouse after the Second World War. Task Force introduced several key upgrades that brought the range right up to date, including the adoption of 12 volt electronics and the availability of a V8 option. Power steering and brakes were also available for the first time on a Chevrolet truck. This series continued on until 1959 and went head to head with the Ford F-Series trucks in the sales race. A favourite with hot rodders, many have been customised and upgraded and still catch the eye today.
