The MG TC first appeared in 1945 and was really a revamped version of the pre-war ladder chassis/timber body framed MG TA / TB models. The TC's classic 1930's styling, simple yet effective mechanicals and excellent roadholding for its day made it an instant hit, with over 10,000 units being produced before the MG TD arrived in 1949. Despite the fact that many TCs were exported, only RHD versions were available. The cars specification consisted of wire wheels, a fold flat windscreen, cut-away doors and separate mudguards and petrol tank. The TC's performance was regarded as 'nippy' in its day, with the 54HP 1250cc T-type engine delivering 0-60mph in 22.7 seconds and a top speed of 78mph (123km/h) if you were game.
