The 123cc MV Agusta 'Turismo Rapido' was introduced in 1954, and helped MV Agusta to refocus their range from the relatively bland two-stroke models they had been concentrating on in the post-war era. A 'square' engine with 54/54 bore/stroke, the single-cylinder Turismo Rapido engine was of OHV four-stroke design and with an 8.5:1 compression ratio produced 7.5cv at 6000rpm. Weighing in at 102kg, it was well respected for its combination of ride and handling with good power and braking systems. It remained in production until 1958.
