Norton introduced their brawny ES2 sportsbike in 1927. It was powered by a 490cc single with a four-speed gearbox and known affectionately as the "Easy-two"- not only a reference to the letters in its name, but also a nod towards its reputation for reliability. It was the first Norton with a saddle tank fitted. The nameplate carried on for decades, finally being put to rest in 1963. Today, they are popular vintage racing bikes and still revered as another classic, characterful bike from the Norton stable.
