Description
The Olds brand had returned to our shores in 1934 after being dropped through the depression years. According to the Oldsmobile Club complete assembled six and eight-cylinder chassis and drivelines were imported from the States, with Holden forming the appropriate body (either Sedan or Coupe) and matching to the chassis in the appropriately ordered colour. Fawn leather trim was fitted to both six-cylinder sedans and coupes, with brown leather optional in the eight-cylinder sedan (no coupes were offered in this form). These locally assembled GM vehicles played an important part in the development of the Australian car industry as a whole, and are much revered with their ability to provide reliable, stylish transport with good club support and American aftermarket parts supply.
