The Holden FB-series was launched in January 1960 in what was a big year for the Australian motor industry, with Ford commencing local production of the Falcon. With the engine now at 138ci and power front brakes added the FB was seen as a step forward over its predecessor, with several sheet metal changes retaining a classic Fifties style look with plenty of chromework and protruding fins.
The styling was further enhanced with a wide range of colours and two-tone options with contrasting interiors with a clear inspiration from the General's American products.
Three sedan trim levels were offered along with station wagon and utility versions and around 175,000 were built.
