Built at a new plant in Ryton, United Kingdom, the Sunbeam-Talbot 80 and 90 series were the first post-World War Two cars to come out of the company. Though quite a large saloon, the 80 was powered by the diminutive 1185cc four-cylinder engine from the Hillman Minx. It also utilised solid axle front suspension, making it rugged but lacking somewhat in refinement. It is believed 3500 Sunbeam-Talbot 80 saloons were completed before it was discontinued in 1950.
