Vauxhall's 25HP D-Type commenced production in 1912, after it was first shown at the Olympia Motor Show. For the next ten years it formed an important part of the burgeoning Vauxhall range. Favoured by the British forces as staff service vehicles through World War 1, the 25HP was powered by a long-stroke (95mm x 140mm) 3969cc engine. A mix of coachbuilt and factory-bodied cars were produced, with the final production number sitting around 4000.
