Description
This is an iconic symbol of Britain and available for sale now in Australia and NZ. This item was orginally commissioned in the UK to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. and was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The "Jubilee Kiosk" (K6) appeared in the streets of the UK in 1936 and became the first standard kiosk to be introduced nation wide. It is recognised as THE iconic symbol of Britain and protected by the Department of the Environment and British Heritage. Some of these historic landmarks have now acquired the status of "Grade II Listed Buildings" ensuring their survival for future generations. However some have made their way to Australia in fair to good condition for immediate sale or awaiting a full restoration.
