Manufactured by Suzuki and launched in 1969 the T250 Hustler successor to the T20 was the baby brother
of the T500 twin 2-stroke which had already been in production for 2 years enjoying some success but unable to compete with the current influx of larger four-stroke machines on the market. The T250 twin cylinder two stroke engine offered lively performance and was seen as a perfect way of obtaining high performance from a light weight smaller package. The engine was capable of propelling the rider to a speed in excess of 90mph and red lining at 8,000rpm driving through a 6-speed transmission a first for production bikes. The two-stroke range of Suzuki’s enjoyed some success on the race circuits of the day, most noted was Suzuki’s 500cc
world champion Barry Sheene.
