Description
The MYNX is a true one-of-a-kind motor car. It was built in 2009 by Queenslander Alf Kalkaus to his own design, though the styling is strongly reminiscent of a Morgan Plus 8. The fibreglass body sits on a fabricated steel chassis, into which went the major mechanicals components of an EL-model Ford Falcon. The engine is a 5.0 litre V8, running on gas, connected to a four-speed automatic transmission. The front suspension is a mix of EL components and top custom wishbones, while at the back it’s a parallel trailing arm design with coil-over shockers. There’s Falcon disc brakes front and rear, while the wheels are 100-spoke knock-on Galaxy chrome wires. Alf built the MYNX under the Individually Constructed Vehicle (IVC) registration scheme, utilising a number of components supplied by Austuff Manufacturing, of Hervey Bay. It is Australian Design Rules (ADR) compliant.
