The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty and medium-duty trucks that have been manufactured since 1948. While most variants of the F-Series trucks are full-size pickup trucks, the F-Series also includes chassis cab trucks and commercial vehicles. Most iconic of the F-Series range is the F100 model, a popularity which was established during its second generation (1953 – 1956), and which remains true today. Ford introduced a dramatically new style of pickup in 1961 with the fourth generation F-Series. Longer and lower than its predecessors, these trucks had increased dimensions and new engine and gearbox choices. Additionally, the 1961–1963 models were constructed as a unibody design with the cab and bed integrated. The Ford F-Series continues to be the best-selling vehicle in the United States (since 1986) and the best-selling pickup since 1977. It is also the best-selling vehicle in Canada.
