The Chevrolet Master and Master Deluxe were manufactured between 1933 and 1942 as the more up-market models in the range at the time. The Australian-made 1938 Chevrolet Master got a new refreshed front clip sourced from Canada (as were the mechanicals), while the rest was made locally. A new six-cylinder engine OHV displacing 216.5ci was introduced and the transmissions used had improved synchromesh and a shorter final drive ratio for more performance, along with improved trim and accessories. The range available was Sedans, Coupes and Roadsters in the Master 85 (I beam front axle) model and Sedan and Coupe in Master Deluxe (independent front suspension and upgraded interior).
