1993 Holden HSV VP Commodore 'Plus Six' Sedan (Build No.18)

Description

Established in 1987 to replace Peter Brock’s HDT Special Vehicles, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) was Holden’s official performance vehicle manufacturer. It produced a series of low-volume performance models based on the mainstream Holden range, most commonly the Commodore platform. With the release of the VP series, HSV began introducing independent rear suspension (IRS) to its higher-spec models as well as new badge names, such as Senator and GTS. The previous VN series Commodore also spawned some HSV V6-engined regional models, which are today less well known and these continued with the launch of the subsequent VP model. These were fundamentally Commodore Executive models with HSV add-ons. One such is the HSV +SIX which was powered by the standard 125kW/292Nm Commodore V6 engine, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Cosmetically, the +SIX treatment added a subtle rear lip spoiler, a slotted Clubsport grille and chrome HSV badge below the taillight on the passenger side, body colour bumpers and lower contrasting silver paint treatment, 10-spoke silver alloy wheels. Interior - SS style 'Langton' seats, Calais rear seats with headrests, all trimmed with HSV velour. VP sports dash with trip computer and tachometer as well as air conditioning, electric front windows, electric radio antenna and cruise control were standard.
