The rear-wheel-drive (all-wheel-drive was optional) CTS was Cadillac’s rival for European models such as the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. It was slightly bigger and heavier than most in the sector. The CTS was well reviewed and impressed especially with its spacious cabin and the extremely high quality of its furnishings. It offered buyers a distinctly American flavour along with competitive safety, dynamics and luxury. For model year 2012, the 3.0-litre V6 received nine additional kW. The grille was restyled. New features included active front head restraints and standard Bluetooth.
