1987 Holden VL 'SS Tribute' 5.0 V8 Sedan

The Holden VL range stands alone in history as the only model series where two quite distinctive SS variants were produced. The first of these issued from Peter Brock?s HDT organization in late 1986. But in February 1987 came the superstar?s famous divorce from Holden, who then engaged Tom Walkinshaw?s organization to develop a new homologation special, which was unkindly dubbed the ?Plastic Pig? at the time but has since come to be regarded as one of the all-time classic Aussie supercars. The HDT Commodore SS was finished in a distinctive maroon colour with contrasting grey interior, the highlight of which was a pair of Scheel front seats.
