The Chevrolet Parkwood was the station wagon equivalent of the Bel Air sedan and was only built between 1959 to 1961. It was the mid-range model in the Chevrolet wagon model line-up, between the Brookwood and Nomad. Initially six seaters, the final 1961 model was also available as a nine-seater. For 1961, Chevrolet had a totally new body for its full-size sedan and wagon, built on the same 3000mm wheelbase but total length was reduced slightly to 5320mm. All engine options of the previous years remained available with the standard being the 235ci six-cylinder or the 283ci V8. A 348ci V8 was a further option. GM discontinued the Chevrolet Parkwood name for 1962, instead naming its wagons after its sedan names: Biscayne, Bel Air and Impala.
