Impressively, GMH introduced all-steel turret roofs to some of the models it assembled in Woodville and Port Melbourne for model year 1937, just two seasons after Oldsmobile had done the same in Detroit! The 1938 Oldsmobiles had their headlights moved outside the grille and incorporated in the front mudguards. There were six-cylinder and V8 versions, with the latter having a more elaborate grille design. GMH had discontinued Oldsmobile during the Great Depression and reintroduced the marque for 1935. It seems that GMH built more than 1600 Oldsmobiles at Woodville in 1938, in two-door Sloper and four-door sedan versions.
